Have you seen Exposed at the Tate? It's a collection of creepy weirdos, some of which was just horrible. Photos through toilet windows from a building opposite, through two way mirrors, with a very long lens into the entrance of an underground station. Came out feeling disgusted, although the work was all interesting there wasn't much to celebrate.

..and they're pretty much of the creepy voyerism genre. One Hour Photo was skin crawlingly bad.
The wider public always think photographers are creepy weido's and many are.
