As I mentioned back in March with the Alessandra Sanguinetti post, http://www.alessandrasanguinetti.com/ using animals as a photographic motif for exploring larger issues, must be a difficult challenge for an artist, it is however, something that I am finding more and more interesting. So seeing a body of work as fascinating as Jo Longhurst's "The Refusal " http://www.jolonghurst.com/ is smashing. It has also been published as a book, which no doubt will be of the highest quality as it's by steidl http://www.steidlville.com/books/727-The-Refusal.html
